My name is Mickey and I’m grateful that I don’t think the way I used to think and because of that I don’t have to live the way I used to live..
This simple little practice or habit is the most powerful, life-enhancing tools for living I have ever experienced and I am an old guy. It’s a pleasure to share it with you.
I have learned that I am the source of 99% of the mental and emotional pain that I have been through and go through in life.
My self-centered thinking is what causes it… When I am experiencing major emotional pain or just discomfort, I look for chacter defects in my thinking; it’s something we almost never do.
The point is to do it.
I look for selfishness, self-centeredness, self-will, self-pity, and childish expectations (of people, places, things, and situations) in my thinking.
When I can see how my thinking is making me sick, I am empowered to change it.
I try to practice acceptance of the world around me, life on life’s terms, and other people just as they are, and when I don’t do this I am miserable.
I have a lot of serenity most of the time.
Being at peace with myself and the world around me is the result of being free from the bondage of self.
Remember when you change the way you think, you change the way you feel and live.
I choose to be no one’s victim today – not even my own.
Love and light,
Mickey
