All of the most reputable and respected saints, sages, and mystics of both now and years gone by have frequently discussed the importance of the Light in our lives.
So what is the Light? Am I referring to the light that radiates from a random bulb dangling from a ceiling, or perhaps the transparent daylight that emanates from a glorious sunshine? The answer is neither.
The Light I am speaking of is essentially the Light of God, the Universe, All That Is, or whatever name you’d like to give it.
To me, living in the Light means surrendering completely to that unseen, powerful force, the Creator.
In my experience, it’s easier said than done to live in the Light every day, however there are some ways I’ve discovered that make it far easier:
1. Trust.
Trust yourself and the Creator.
He only wants what is best for you and so long as you remember that, trusting should be relatively easy.
Remind yourself that He lives through you as you so obviously the only very best life experiences will come your way.
And when self-perceived ‘bad’ experiences do occur in your life, look for the blessing in those as there’s always at least one!
2. Know.
Tap into the inner source of knowing that we all possess.
It’s difficult to describe where this knowing comes from, as it just is.
Often it is wrapped up in the emotions, feelings, worries, anxieties and materialistic elements of this world, which form a kind of multi-layered cloak around our true being (our Light).
Take off that cloak, layer by layer, and then true knowing will be felt.
Knowing is greater than faith and trust…it’s a step beyond those into the realm of the real miracles and magic.
3. Love.
Love every day.
Love the new people you meet. Love the motorist who pulls in front of you on the highway. Love those who challenge you. Love your friends, your relatives, your partner and your animals. Love your enemies, even.
Send Love to people you don’t know in the street, to the checkout person in the supermarket, and even to trees, objects, and food.
I like to sprinkle Light over my food before every meal!
When you feel Love everyday and share it, the Light will reward you by sending Love back to you, which will be felt by every molecule of your being.
I send Love to others by visualizing white or golden Light shooting out of my heart chakra, directly into theirs.
Sometimes I even imagine the Love being wrapped up in a parcel and I see the receiver opening it with glee! Let your creative imagination play when it comes to sending Love.
4. Meditate.
Take time out each day to reflect, unwind, close your eyes, breathe slowly and deeply, and find the peace within.
When you meditate you will attract people and experiences into your life which are resonate with you and your vision.
The Universe also has a say in this, of course. So what you think your vision is, may not transpire to be what it actually is!
I do my best to meditate three times a day — once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and in the evening before I go to bed.
Like eating, it’s better to meditate little and often rather than once a day for a longer period.
5. Expand.
Think expansive thoughts rather than restrictive ones.
Always see yourself progressing and growing in life. See yourself as bigger and more successful than you already are.
And remember, success looks different for everyone and doesn’t always mean more money or more clients.
It could simply mean peace of mind, freedom, and joy. Or more loving in your life.
6. Relax.
Rather than fret about your future, or think ahead, exhale and enjoy the Now.
Now is the only time we ever really have anyway so fully immerse yourself in any task you do throughout each day, even if that’s simply people watching or feeling the sun on your skin as you sit outside.
7. Let go.
Refrain from planning your life to unfold in a particular way or seeking a specific outcome to whatever is in your awareness.
Instead, let that feeling go and then the tension is not present, hence allowing more positive surprises to flow into your life and your world.
By letting go we are also enabling more love and Light to flow into our world.
8. Ask.
When I was stuck and depressed, the key to open the doorway to Truth transpired to be asking!
One day I surrendered to my situation, looked up to the sky, and asked God for a sign. I was 100% present when I did this, totally engaged, and what occurred next was nothing short of miraculous.
I received an answer — a sign — less than 24 hours later in the pages of a magazine, which led me to having cellular healing sessions that were hugely transformative.
So get into the habit of asking God for what you’d like, and always put your request into the Light for the highest good of all concerned.
That way, you’ll remain unattached to your request and, as an act of unselfishness, you’ll want everyone involved to benefit for their own growth and betterment.
9. Give.
One of the highest spiritual actions we can possibly partake in on this planet is giving.
And I’m not just talking about giving money to a homeless person, or giving material items to your local children’s hospice. I’m talking about giving of yourself.
It’s the invisible parts of life that hold the greatest power, and in giving of ourselves unconditionally through Loving, compassion, and a listening ear, the Universe will always give back to us.
Following these steps will allow the Universe to work its magic in your life and lead you onto the path to achieve your wildest, deepest, truest dreams, which reflect the real you; your Soul.
